Moisture testing and flooring inspections the first step in healthy building
Excessive moisture is a contributor to premature flooring failures and indoor air quality issues.
If you are installing new flooring over a concrete or wood substrate/surface, moisture testing is a requirement by the flooring manufacturers to retain their warranties.
Regardless of age or elevation, all concrete contains and emits moisture.
Wood substrates are affected by leaks, poor drainage and inadequate ventilation or acclimation.
the moisture testing guy can help you prevent failures by performing the required testing to the latest ASTM Standards,
maintaining compliance with your specified finishes.
For issues with existing flooring, moisture testing is one method that can assist in determining the cause of the problem.

Humble beginnings
I began my career in floor covering in 1985 as a union apprentice in San Francisco.
I love the craft and continue to gain knowledge and skills with all types of finishes.
From carpet to heat-welding coved sheet vinyl. Resinous flooring to polished concrete.
I've been a trainer, in sales, product development, inspector and patent holder.
Commercial flooring and it's connection with concrete substrates are my specialty.
Other substrates like wood or gypsum-based toppings can pose their own set of problems when details are overlooked.
My experience and education has enabled me to help others with flooring installations across the country for decades.
